
Mech Deck
A downloadable game for Windows
Basic Controls:
I - Opens the inventory (drag cards to middle box to store them, and red box to sell)
U - Opens the upgrade menu
Right Click - Opens the mod menu for mechs
Left Click - Basic interaction and card dragging
Basic Mechanics:
Make your way through the encounters building a strong hand of cards to beat the bosses at the end of the level, beat all 10 bosses to win the game. Each encounter grants you gold/xp/cards. Leveling up only increases your max hp for now. On your HUD you will see an "energy" counter, each card takes a specific amount of energy, this is a way to limit how many cards can be in the hand at a time. Both the hand and inventory have a size limit of 12 energy.
Basic level loop example:
For the first three encounters you have the option between 3 encounters, either buying cards, getting free cards, or fighting a random opponent (very risky). Then on the fourth encounter you choose 1 of 3 easy fights. You then repeat these two steps up until encounter 12 where you will be thrown into a boss fight. After winning the fight you will most likely level up and then start the next encounter.
Upgrading:
To upgrade a card, the cards you want to use for the upgrade should be in your hand. Then after opening the upgrade menu place the two cards you with to use in the left and right slot. The upgraded version of the card will appear in the middle slot so that you can preview the increase in stats, pressing upgrade will consume your two cards and make the upgraded version available for grabbing. PLEASE NOTE, when upgrading a mech with mods/pilot equipped, only the mods/pilot on the mech in the left upgrade slot will carry over to the new card.
In-Depth Mechanic Breakdown:
Leveling up grants the player additional health and energy slots. Burn ticks every second, while corrosion ticks every two seconds. Corrosion also lowers the stats of a random mech. Upgrading a card by dragging a card of the same name and tier will increase its stats. Mechs will target a random enemy mech and lower its defense, the mech does damage to the enemy equal to 5 times the difference between its attack and the targets defense. A successful crit will double the effect of what ever crit, currently this only effects damage, heal, and shield. After 30 seconds both the player and AI will take increasing tick damage until the end of the fight.
